Feeding the neighbours kid is a good way to make sure that they will help you if you need something down the road. Most likely, they won't end you calling the cops if your house gets broken into now. They may actually get out lawn chairs and watch, maybe even cheer. Then the cost of a burger compared to the hike in your house insurance will seem like pennies.
