But hell... a lot depends on how old the kitten is, too.
Are we talking around 6-8 weeks here? If so, yeah - wet food may be all it should be eating, as it's just come off its mothers milk.
If it's younger than that (a possibility, I guess - you said you found it, right?), you should be feeding it KMR - a type of feed for infant animals (similar to baby formula) ... you can find it at any feed store. As a kid, I had a mother cat die on me 3 days after giving birth to a litter, and had to nurse them with that stuff for 6 more weeks.... force-feeding them (to start) with a bottle - until they got use to drinking from a man-made kitten-bottle.
If they're around, say 10-14 weeks, you're safe starting to add dry food, I'd imagine.
Much older than that, and my post above this one applies to my opinion.
If you don't know the age - that's another reason for you to visit a vet.
