They both DO carry the WM id through all the menus etc. Open any blog with some sample wm code, click on any menu. You'll be sent to the appropriate category, archive page etc. Now place your mouse pointer over any link (picture) in the posts and note the affiliate code in the url (you may even click it to be sure
