You'd have to meet the 'board persona' in person to be able to judge accordingly no? And how many of the fake nicks and keyboard warriors have actually gone or can afford to go conventions and would say what they have to say to a person's face?
The same can be said about gfy posters who act 'professional', 'dignified' and 'classy' on the boards but are real asshats and scums in real life. You have no idea how many scumbags I've come across in 10 years of this biz who put on the 'other' face when it comes to posting publicly on boards to win the 'hearts and minds' of potential clients and webmasters. A few names come to mind because I've done business with these 'classy, respectful professionals'.
I'd rather deal with a consistent asshole rather than a two-faced scumbag who acts professional. At least I know what I'm getting...
