This is something I agree with you on 100%. Everything else (military codex etc) is just a BS and idealism. War is not a sport, war is dirt, blood and death.
P.S. I husband of my sister as fighting in Afghanistan (Soviet times), some of my schoolfriends were fighting in Chechnya (both 1st and 2nd companies). I head enough about the REAL WAR. It's not a movie, it's fuckin' serious and hard-edged thing: kill or be killed.
