Brian shoots some stuff like that too with a curtain behind and i tell him same thing, looks cheesey.
Nothing worse though than those photographers who shoot the amateur style pix in front of the fake Z-Brick wall.

It's all a matter of taste, from the gothy girls to the single-color backdrops. Obviously, I won't stray far from the goth girls. As for the backdrops, I actually like the compositional simplicity that a single color offers, and every shoot can't be on location. I do try to find more varied settings, but it isn't always easy.
