It's a Pentium D, I know they run hot but I think 86C is probably a
little excessive!
I updated the BIOS and noticed that "AI NOS" overclocking was set... disabling that seems to have given me a bit of breathing space, but otherwise the fan speed stays stuck at 2500-2600 max.
I'll probably buy this shortly once I confirm it works with a Pentium D:

budz: how do you enable speedstep? I'm pretty sure it's on by default, and Windows XP supports it... if you know otherwise then I'd appreciate some more info.

(Won't that just reduce idle temp?)
