Access is the problem... not quality. The quality here is great, but that doesn't mean much to a good number of Americans.
Some Americans can't get insured no matter what - simply because they have diabetes, or some other common ailment, and make over $30k a year.
People's lives are being ruined while insurance companies and drug companies report record profits.
The average lifespan of Americans is, on average, lower than in other industrialized nations because of that crap.
If you don't think something's wrong with our healthcare system, either step out of your bubble and open your eyes (as I recently had to) or get your head checked, imho.
As far as those doc's... fuck 'em. "Do no Harm," my ass... assuming they're convicted, strip them of their license, and throw away the key, I say.

Blah blah blah.....
Have you heard of preventivie medicine??
Thats the answer.. Not socialized medicine.
Your argument would apply much more fitting and argument for Preventive Medicine.
Something a contained system like an HMO could implemement much more effective than a government ran healthcare system.
Diabetes, obesity, High Blood Pressure are many of the reasons we as Americans have health issues.. They are all factors that could be avioded thorugh preventitive medicine. Not socializing our system.
You think the current system likes or wants this?
No.. An HMO does not...
