As far as the PS3. The increase in supply of blue diodes is behind this price cut. They now cost Sony $8 each isntead of nearly 10X that. Not to mention reduction of costs of other parts.
I'm sure it would be even cheaper is Sony went cheap like Microsoft and made wi-fi an add-on. Considering that the 360 likes to be touted for it's online capabilities and yet not have built-in wi-fi seems dumb. Then I remember they charge $100 for the wi-fi add-on so maybe not so dumb on Microsoft's part. Not very good for the consumer though.

There's nothing for me to take into account. This was reported online and in this months OXM Magazine. They are NOT taking a loss on the new Elite models. This is fact. I'm just reporting it here.
