Playboy lost a case a few years ago about this. A girl who has been a playmate is a "playmate" for life. Playboy cannot stop the girls from saying they are former playmates and using that term.
That the girl is a former playmate doesn't imply Playboy's involvement in anything. This is a girl making money doing what she does, being a model... even if she is modeling for a place that rips off all the other people who have paid for her time in the past.
