it all depends on the girl and the timing, and your relationship with her. my relationship with the guy that i mentioned, was more on the "fun" side, and we weren't crazy-serious after the three months together that he bought them for me. it didn't make me feel much differently about him, i stayed with him for a total of two years. maybe i shouldn't have used the word "creepy," but it did make me feel a bit uncomfortable because a) it was only after three months together and i didn't realize we were "celebrating" our three month anniversary, so i had nothing for him, and b) i would much rather he saved his money, flowers can get really expensive, especially since we were much younger at the time and money was harder to come by.

i do enjoy getting flowers every now and then, but it's not something that i expect or "crave," if that makes sense.

it is sort of a waste of money, imho.

that doesn't mean that i never want to get them ever again, but it's not a necessity on every birthday/anniversay/holiday/etc. it's a very nice surprise when it's unexpected and not over-the-top.

i agree with this. while red roses are classic/romantic/etc.. i enjoy other types of flowers/bouquets, maybe even more than i would the roses. i love orchids and really pretty blue and purple flowers, stuff that you don't really see that often.

it could be a totally small bouquet and still be the most beautiful/appreciated. it doesn't have to be a huge crystal vase full of bright red roses. but those are nice, too, every once in a while. ;)
