So let's get back to the basics for a moment.
If the idiot on behalf of whom this thread was started (by arguably a bigger idiot, but hey, we like drama so we'll let that slide) paid better attention, he'd still have the wallet.
Because of the joint efforts of the thief and the idiot, a large number of people have been inconvenienced, from the hotel staff to the local police. All these people cost money.
So, in part, this idiot cost me, and all of you, money. No, wait, not me.
On the other hand, as a positive for the joint efforts of the thief and the idiot, we have this thread. A minor accomplishment, but hey. Take what comes.
