Wow, a useful question in this thread ! Well, depends on the point of view. For me SEO traffic is traffic directed from the search engines to special landing pages or sites not fed by any other traffic sources than search engines.

Direct redirect to sponsor would certainly count as well...but I wouldn't recommend it. If people end up on a paysite they like, they tend to search around for free content (tours often don't show enough for them to evaluate the site) and they may end up joining via your competitors. So to avoid pointing people to a site and then making others money, use landing pages/sites that have enough free stuff, so they'll go signup directly from your site.
