I would feel self-conscious going by myself and extremely uncomfortable going with people I don't know.
I have been thinking of vacations lately but I have absolutely nobody to go with. I don't foresee anyone going being able to go on a vacation with me in the future either.
Does anyone actually go on vacation by themselves? Is that considered "sad"?

I've gone a few places by myself, but I always pick a place where I know someone who lives there so I can see a "friendly face" while I'm there.
I used to NEVER EVER EVER go anywhere by myself but then I realized how much I was missing out on waiting for others to be ready to go. Now I just head out on my own if I can't find someone to go with and actually it's nice not always having to time things with someone else - others might be "sad" but I'm having a ball
I've also been a 3rd wheel with several married couples on trips. Something I thought was just crazy until I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on a trip to Maui last year. Went to Europe with a couple also (and met up with someone we knew who lived there too).
I took my first road trip alone in almost 3 year a few weeks ago and forgot how much I really enjoy doing that. That's what got me in the mood to start looking at RVs.
My parents travel CONSTANTLY. Literally probably 40 times a year at least. I was just on the phone with my Dad and in the next week they will be in Alabama, Michigan and Indiana. Actually everyone in my family travels a lot. We have the wanderlust
