In all honesty I shouldn't have to even ask a smart businessman like DH to do the right thing.
A true professional would already have done it.
And no, it won't erase much, but it would go a long way towards showing that he can be reasonable and refocus the issue back into a positive direction.
But then again, what fun would that be?
