They do more good to the person making them then to the person they fucked over in the first place.
Who gives a shit about an apology, in both cases it became very clear that the people making the accusations were dead wrong. In both cases they tried to destroy someone else's business with no proof, and " opps i am sorry" makes up for all the damage they did to that person? well it certainly makes themselves look better which is the only reason they do it.
