I hear what you are saying about the old days, it was a stack of fun, but there was no glorified hustle or innovators like you remember ... it was just a bunch of people standing under a rain cloud with a bucket. The innovators came when competition came, but really there's still not much more or less innovation here today than there was in 96, 99, 2002 ... the business people & innovators made their money & got out, they didn't spend their money and get driven out.

Everything we went through back then was a learning experience ... I just don't understand how you couldn't have learnt that throwing money around to show others how much you have isn't good business. It might have been cool, fun, hustle etc, but we were all just average folk making easy money & showing it off to anyone who cared.

I long for the days of Faye's shows with 500 odd people, 1 party per night and nobody wanting to kill each other for ripping them off.

Busty, that's a great photo of you and jeff!! We used to bump into each other all the time back in those days. I am trying to remember the name of that beautiful girl who worked with you, starts with L - your sister or jeff's sister I think? I always had a good chat with her & she was such a beautiful girl. I'm trying to find the photos of us but that's going back several hard drives ;/
This thread got me to plow through some old photos and dv tapes last night and I found some funny stuff with JoeE and a ton of other oldschool people. One day I'll take some time and edit it all up ... truly funny and memorable times

I hear what your saying from a logical standpoint about how innovators came when competition came BUT do you really believe there were no innovators and no hustle back then CJ?

Robin Nixon wasn't an innovator? Slick Rick from YNOT? Ron Levi? Serge? Al Hadhazy? The guys behind Video Secrets and Python's live sex from amsterdam? The adult online business today, the various business models - and commerce on the net as a whole is based on all the innovative shit that was absolutely created in those days. Granted, it was easier to make a buck because it wasn't so saturated - but seriously, it wasn't just standing around with buckets and $$$ falling from the sky - it was ALWAYS A HUSTLE

Regardless of the fast money coming in and going out - I don't regret ... nor would I change a thing. The travel, the shows, the partying, THE PARTIES were all great life experiences ... and learning experiences! Best of all, I have deep rooted friendships and business relationships that have lasted the test of time from those days.

AND, these days are great too! I've settled down, have two beautiful kids and a wife I adore - I'm happier today than I've ever been and I owe a lot of that to THE OLD DAYS
