How weird will lung cancer or emphysema feel? That sounds like the little devil in your mind giving you a "good enough reason" to not take the pills and keep smoking. (FWIW I'm sure you felt weird the first time you smoked a cigarette but you managed to get used to those

)
The Chantix helps for sure. I still had some withdrawal issues the first couple of days, but alot of those were more psychological than physical.
The last few days I was smoking on the Chantix I would take three or four puffs and then put it out because I was getting no pleasure from the cigarrette.

I'm reading it now, the book is not a "magical cure" the way you're describing it, but it definitely gives a different perspective on why you should quit and some tools to deal with the psychological withdrawals.
