the only thing I can see would be for social reasoning such as if Nickname-A pisses off another user and they stop using them, then they won't end up doing trades with the same person if they are also Nickname-B..

Exactly... that is exactly the reason you can not have 2 accounts... and also the reason for the account leroytrolley being hated and shit listed.
He/She used the leroytrolley to trade to his/her main sites... and then drops the trades.
His/her main domains get the benefit while the leroytrolley takes the heat and gets shit listed.
