Anyhow, moving back to the original topic a bit...
I think you are right that the content is the bottleneck. Not a lot of it is being produced. That means that in many cases, the content *is* the site... Unlike mainstream stuff where people just put all sorts of content in, and only the marketing differentiates many sites.
I can't imagine there are a lot of sites out there for sale. Also, selling a site is rarely economical. Who wants an offer as small as 3-6 months of income for something they built? And how many goth sites are there that could continue without their founder?
