And the original thread posters *facts* regarding the towers being designed to take impact from two 747's. There weren't any 747's when the towers were built. They did however consider a 707 impact because of the proximity to La Guardia and JFK while a plane was either in takeoff or descent. The speeds and kinetic energy involved on 911(over 400mph) and a 707 landing or takeoff(180mph) is very different.

Your right a building getting hit by a bigger and more bulky slower flying plane is much safer than a faster lighter plane
Whatever kind of plane it was the number did not equal the amount in which the towers were designed to handle.
