Well, this is a new one.
However, I would imagine it's rather simple to explain.
Um, lots of concrete fell onto lots of other concrete. Yet still other stuff was on fire. (Note I'm trying I'm trying to dumb this down for you here.) Well, if you burry stuff that's on fire, continue to give it fuel (and oxygen from the subway station below it) sooner or later it's going to rather hot down there. In fact, there was hot spots for weeks after the towers fell.
Even though we've already been told (by some folks with tin hats on) that the fire wasn't hot enough to melt anything ( because these same tin foil hat people were up on the 98th floor with rectal thermometers taking the temperture.....).... I'm guessing it was just "plain hot enough" to melt all of the different types of metal that were down there?
OH, but wait.... It wans't hot enough to melt the metals down there? Why not? I'm guessing there was a vast amount of different materials in these buildings, everything from a-z... and some of it melted into hot pools of molten lava.
Or... maybe there was a volcano under NYC?
Or.... Maybe the aliens put the lava there.
