Yes, in fact, I am not afraid of going on record of saying that Bush might be hailed as a hero in thirty years. If not a hero, perhaps a "good President". (Keep in mind I believe he's a horrible President.)
I believe that the world's oil resources are drying up, and in twenty - thirty years from now we'll be screwed. There isn't an exit plan in Iraq because we have no intention of leaving - We want (and perhaps need) a full time presence in the Middle East.
Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. Gulf War I was because of Kuwait; Gulf War II was because Saddam believe that he could tell the world he beat the Americans and defied all of the condiations of the surrender.

There is a good chance this will happen. And will make all of efforts there a waste and leave us with no foot hold in the Middle East. I mean, I'm fine with this myself - I make plenty of money and rarely leave the house, so if the price of gas triples in the next year it's not going to really affect me at all.

Gulf War I wasn't a waste and accomplished it's objections - which were getting Iraq out of Kuwait and securing our oil interests.
We could have easily walked straight into Bagdad, but our intention wasn't to occupy Iraq. Perhaps we should have done that first time around.
