I have only sold one or two of the 150+ domain's I have on SEDO.com and services like it. From my experience, I find it hard to get any serious buyers unless you are known in the domain-crowd.
What I do instead now, is I develop the domain to a certain point, and then contact people I think would be interested. A domain with traffic is so much easier to sell. And I would rather spend 15 hours on developing a temp site, than I would spend 15 hours tracking down a buyer that wont commit to a deal anyway.
