Because they want to report on what is REALLY happening in Iraq rather than just reading press releases from the Pentagon?

News Flash: All of the major networks put ratings above all else. They need to in order to survive as low ratings = no advertisers = bye bye. This is why we get endless hours of 'news' on Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Michael Vick while stories that actually affect your life barely get mentioned if at all.
