Trademark system doesn't always work
Although I have had 'Planet Hottiewood" officially registered and now finalizing in the trademark process, Planet Hollywood decided to NOW, after over two years and the name just entering formal registration change, to decide to try to sue 'Planet Hottiewood"
They want outright the name, the trademark, everything. They feel it devalues their family name! My attorney says they fell asleep behind the wheel because they had their legal opportunity to oppose the trademark, but they didn't. They now just want everything...just like that.
If the US government OK'd the trademark, it's not good enough for Planet Hollywood...so they sue!
Funny, a site with bikini and lingerie models is being called disparaging by a company who feeds people fried foods, indulges in gambling, booze and to some extent prostitution! (they know the hookers are there)
All said and done, my attorney said I have a case, but it's going to cost me LOTS of money because they obviously have deeper pockets.
Oh well...the legal system goes to the guy who has the most cash apparently...
