Basically yes. But you get discounts - I think itīs no claims bonus - for every year without a car accident from your insurance company. If you have an accident in a year, your insurance rate for the next year gets less discount. There are fixed rates which apply for every insurance company.

Starting at 175% for persons with fresh driving licences, you pay 25% only if you didnīt have an accident for 25 years.

The system works independent of tickets.
