Having a friends back in a hard time makes someone a real friend, that's a given, and more people need to be that way. Sticking with them during the hard time is a highly respectable thing.
BUT
Also defending their actions is not respectable. Asking someone to help make fraudulent money is not ok. Anyway you look at it, it's just wrong. When you go from helping them up from being down that's fine, when you defend the actions they did that put them there, you then fall onto the ground with them. A real friend will say what the fuck were you thinking asshole, smack them in the mouth and say clean this shit up.
