Size of military is more or less unimportant these days. In a war with a major country like China, a push of a button can wipe out an entire city for generations.
Militarily, most experts will tell you that China is still decades behind us. Besides that, they have no strategic geographical allies that would threaten us. We have bases throughout the world, and many very close to China. One of the reasons the US doesn't get attacked on the homeland is because of the difficulty in getting troops into the country.
But all of this is pointless. No one is going to go to war with anyone here. China's economy relies on us just like we rely on them. We're turning into a global economy that makes it beneficial to everyone to stay peaceful.
