I am already seeing comcast's solution first hand ( article)...I run a torrent site with independent electronic artists, all the music is legal and allowed to be freely distributed....comcast is now throttling my internet usage when it detects I am seeding torrents
IN FACT, i had shitloads of internet issues this past weekend, I could barely stay online...I called comcast and they said nothing was wrong....I shut down my torrent seeding software, rebooted my modem and everything has worked fine since
it pisses me off because I am seeding legal torrents, but because of all the thieves I have to suffer

Well, its not necassarily because they are trying to stop you from pirating shit... bittorrent really is a very useful technology for anyone who has to distribute large files, but has little bandwidth. Its just being used so much by pirates and non-pirates alike, its soaking up the ISP's bandwidth, and costing them a lot of money. I dont think its really an ethical issue for comcast at all.
It seems like just about every legal download that is a large enough size is distributed with bittorrent these days. Just about every linux distro offers iso's over bittorrent, etc.
