Did you know, example, that ISOHunt has blocked access to their trackers to people in the US, as a dodge to avoid lawsuits in the US? Canada isn't anything like Sweden when it comes to copyright laws, and we gladly will allow the american companies to sue the living crap out of companies or individuals who distribute copyrighted material into the US.
Interestingly, this is a true indication that much of what is on ISOHunt isn't legal, as they are having to artificially limit distribution. Also, there is no protection under Canadian law for distributing illegal content (such as camcordered movies), and a new law passed very specifically makes that an illegal act. Canada also has very strict CP laws, and if any CP shows up on ISOHunt's trackers, they would be in serious shit. In order for ISOHunt to stay legal in Canada, they are having to make major, major changes to their service and content. They certainly won't be the open and freewheeling "wild west" of torrents. In fact, if you read their site closely, they look more like they are trying to move to a fiel distribution model for open source / public license software, because the current situation is not tolerable.

It appears that the Swedish government is going to move to basically make the ISPs providing the services to TPB liable for the copyright violations. There is apparently strong support for this from the Swedish Film industry, and the report was written by a judge. It would appear that the courts there may be tired of being laughed at by the copyright violators.
