Food For Thought
Designers are a dime a dozen these days.. What we look for is those who can go the extra mile, with clean HTML, CSS, etc and no headache design work.
In other words, when handed over, we have nothing to do, we don't need to spend our time doing your designer work, such as creating clean CSS, formatting up your image ready splash sliced crap code and creating proper css files/links etc.
This is the job of a designer, and shows professionalism
When I look at portfolio's / designs, first thing I do is view source, and in most cases move on to the next applicant
