Congratulations, You're an Idiot!
Some people really are too stupid to continue consuming the precious resource of oxygen on this planet. I got a second credit card from my bank. So naturally, I go to register it online so I can see my statement online and to prevent someone else from coming along and doing the same without my knowledge. While trying to do so, I kept getting indexoutofrange errors and other assorted ASP/DB error messages.
So I called them, and here is the variety of the stupid answers and dumb responses I got:
Call #1: (Monday evening, when I got the card and had time to fuck with it) rep says the system updates around this time, try again in the morning.
Call #2: (The next morning, when it still doesn't work). The system is probably still updating, try again this afternoon.
Call #3: (Later that afternoon) Still not working. Rep tells me its my web browser that is having trouble, I should take my computer in and have it checked for viruses and spy ware. I tell her that BS, the database is the bank's web servers, not in my web browser. She sends me to a supervisor who promises to let the proper parties know about it.
(I decide to wait a while, maybe enough other people will bitch about it and it will get fixed. Apparently thats not gonna do it, still broke this morning.)
Call #4: (Today, 2 hrs ago) Still wont work. Rep tells me its because I am not doing it right. I ask her how to do it, she walks me through and I get the error again. She then starts telling me to call my ISP, my internet is broken, I started to tell her that was BS but she hung up on me when I told her not to interrupt me.
Call #5: (Just ended) I go straight to a supervisor, she at first tries to tell me that its my computer, my password, my ISP and/or my e-mail address. I tell her thats BS and I want to speak to someone in tech and she tells me they don't take phone calls from customers. Finally, she gives up and sends me to the system admin's voice mail, which answers on the first ring with "You have reached so and so, team leader of the enterprise services group for Incompetence Savings & Loan, I am currently on vacation and will return to the office on November 5..." So I left a message and I guess I will wait until this fuck comes back from vacation to get it fixed.
Jesus fucking Christ. Its easier to get Microsoft to acknowledge a flaw in its products than it is to get a competent answer out of these people. First off, I if was MIS for any company and some dumb call center rep sent a customer to my voice mail, I'd fucking have her head. Second of all, a mild knowledge of the internet should be a requirement for people hired on to work at online banks and who take calls about the bank's website.
