Sorry man.. that's not how it works. If Nevada has any form of Deferred Adjudication.. his best bet is to pursue that or get a badass lawyer who will get the whole case thrown out on a technicality. If he fights it though... he risks
getting convicted through a jury trial and then he will see some time most likely.
It's best to be plead out, IMO unless you really are not guilty. Either way.. you are still fucked because it shows up as an arrest on your criminal record. When all is said and done.. he'll need to get another attorney and file a petition to have it expunged... otherwise.. like some else said earlier.. it will haunt you for life. I know all about it.
