Any Americans coming to the UK on vacation will get a big shock. Petrol is $2 per litre, cigarettes is like $10 per pack. Eating in restaraunts is expensive (if you're used to US prices)
I'm used to paying it so its not bad for us, but we went to Florida on holiday this year again for 3 weeks and you get used to spending your dollars and the low prices. As soon as I got home I took my girlfriend out for dinner and the bill was almost $160 without tip for two 3 course meals and 3 drinks each.
Not expensive for a nice meal, but when you are used to going to Outback and getting 4 fillet steaks with fries and 3 drinks each for the same price it makes ya think.
