We had operation Desert Storm under Bush the first because of the invasion of Kuwait dude. Remember? It made all the papers. Bush 1 specifically did NOT go to Baghdad and depose Sadam because he said it would be illegal under international law! Who is it thats forgetful?

Also, Sadam gassed the kurds before that. It was either 1986 or 1988. So thats also a manufactured reason for us to be in Iraq right now.

We're there now because the neo-cons have had a hard-on for war and it's defense and energy related profits for decades. When the idea was introduced to REAGAN, he laughed them out of the office.
