You can get it for the intels also. I swear by these things, honestly. It's one of the only things I've ever bought that works as advertised. Read up on Thermo-electric Cooling(TEC)....it's not just about the fan. It also has a unit that mounts in a drive bay with a temp readout that is supposedly about as accurate as you can get.
Concerning the heat, I think above 50c is way hot, but I'm very sensitive to it. Above 40c is where I've seen weird things happen, such as the dreaded spontaneous reboot.
