The white thing is a piece of flooring that fell into the hole.
The pipe is iron and goes virtically into the hole. It is just sitting straight up and down, but I don't want to pull it out of the pile of whatever it is in until I get down there. It would make a good poking rod if someone was.....nevermind

Dude you better tie a rope on your ass before you enter that hole.. Other wise in about 50 years some other dude will be posting on here asking about fingernail marks and bones in a hole that he found under his house.
