Hey, I figure it like this :
There are going to be tube sites because it is just the way things are going.
Maybe in a year or two something will replace tube sites, but it'll probably be just a "suped up version" of tube sites.
I did the whole song and dance : changing to whatever the "next big thing" was. This kept my small sites alive while I watched other peoples small sites die. If you're the hun then you don't care; if you're "the none" then move with the flow before you go out of style.
Conclusion:
- Bandwidth is only going to get cheaper
- Bigger pockets and bigger budgets will enter the game
- People like TV and are fucking lazy
Therefore the format to ultimately win the game is "one click, sit back and watch". The big pockets are eventually going to dump millions into content and bandwidth and supply this format. The new surfer will get used to this and will not want to surf text tgp's etc... Meaning that if your site does not come somewhere close to this winning format then you are not going to have a chance in hello of getting a surfer to click and bookmark.
Regarding tube site conversions:
I changed tgps to tube sites and this is what I have:
occash BEFORE I went tube: 1:5021
occash AFTER I went tube: 1:1196
Taken from the same number of months.
If I'd put some effort into ads and banners then I could cut that ratio down even further.
Oh YEAH, keep in mind that my tube ratio has blind links like "view main site" on the page 60 times!!!
