I don't think it's racist. I really don't. Worst case scenario it may be naive, but even then I think it's just making a statement based on ones previous experience and shouldn't be taken seriously.
look, let's say a police officer sees a white guy in a black neighborhood, and he suspects he's there for drugs...racial profiling? NO! That's making a judgment call based on his past experience. For all he knows the guy is there visiting his girlfriend for Christ sakes, BUT odds have it that he's there for drugs. Fact of life. If it's me in a black neighborhood visiting my girlfriend, I'm not going to be pissed when I'm given the third degree, the guy is doing his job. of, course I'll ask him not to tell my wife, but I won't be pissed. Of course he thinks i'm there for drugs! 999 of the last 1000 guys he checked were there for that reason so why should he think differently?
maybe i'm way off here, I don't know. Anyone agree?
