Look. I always like to get the best bang for my buck. I love to help people, especially when they're straight up and are actually trying to better themselves.
Donating $5, $100, or $10,000 to some African country is not going to solve ANY problems. The problem is so much worse than that. They have no education, no food, no jobs, no stable government.
If you seriously want their lives to change, you need to get in their and restructure their whole government. And even THEN the problems won't just go away, it will take many many years for the new system to "set" and for conditions to actually improve.
I would rather donate my money to a cause that leaves a lasting impression instead of a temporary fix.

With only a few hundred bucks you can save a child's life in Africa, even get him some education and with that the chance to bring improvement to his country.
