Ok I will try to give a honest point of view on this subject.
the usa is actually very low cost and so are the salaries paid.
Not everyone in Russia,Romania,Czech etc is on $150 a week in fact you would be surprised how wealthy and how much business takes place in these countries, even india has rooms for $500+ a night and I guess you thought they had nothing there.
Most countries are going from poor to rich on a business level such as china ,of course a lot of people will remain poor.
I was in London England last year with some american friends and they couldnt handle how much everything cost.
Its a sad fact that the usa was once a leading force and it still maybe but as regards spending power when your away from home you are way behind the new global earnings and pricing of goods and services
Just my outlook on things !

I'm not very impressed. It looks like the salaries paid in the USA are quit a bit higher and probably would be double if we didn't have a foolish president who lowered the value of the dollar. I'm not sure what you mean by "leading force" but we have the most money and bombs. I don't know anything more influential than money and bombs.....
I'm guessing there are so many poor people in these countries that can't even afford to leave their house (or whatever they live in) so the service industry only exists for the few rich and tourists...
