They seem to be fine. I think tube sites might affect tgps more in late 2008 and 2009. I know everyone is going crazy over this but I think it is going to take some time. Some things need to happen first. If tube sites find a way to be more profitable then you will see a major shift in traffic. There needs to be more tube sites to make an impact but you won't see alot of new tube sites because of the startup cost. TGPs have almost no startup cost but tube sites carry a huge bandwidth bill. If some large companies figure out how to profit from tube sites then they will have the ability to grab massive traffic.
I don't think this will affect the paysite model too much because tube sites need paysites to survive. They can't survive just on webcam and dating sponsors... well maybe in the short term over the next year or two but these ads will get oversaturated and become over priced for the sponsors which will eventually put pressure to lower ad rates. They will need many more fresh sponsors to push demand for ad space up to get the most out of their ad spots and this means need to be friendly to paysites so they can become sponsors.
By being frindly to paysites means to control the content they post. If tube sites start posting too many full videos or increase their quality then it can hurt the industry over the short term. Only the smart tube sites and the strong paysites will survive. In the long term only profitable businesses will always win. Giving everything away for free IN THIS BUSINESS never works.
I posted a thread about this and how it might really kill the amateur market. People who look for amateur porn usually like the bad quality home style videos and that is exactly what tube sites will have. Time will tell.
So I think tube sites will change this industry for the good and bad. In the long term I think it will end with major consolidations and push out alot of smaller webmasters.
For smaller webmasters all I can say is... SPECIALIZE! find your little corner in this business where you can specialize in something and go to work.
