War isn't necessarily good for the economy, domestic spending is. When we're at war, domestic spending goes up many times. We need to buy planes, bombs, weapons, etc. This creates jobs and money for US workers. The same can be accomplished by building up the infrastructure. Difference is that Republicans don't get erections from buiding some bridges that don't collapse, they get it from sitting on their couch playing armchair General.
