Correct. Being a cop was my dream job and if re-incarnation is really an option, in my next life....
I went through the written test, physical test, background check, polygraph, and oral review - passed them all only to find out the dept. was filling its' quota of minorities that hiring round, of which, I am not. I was ranked candidate #5 after testing out of a field of over 500.
Not long after, I got a job that paid $15K more starting salary per year and never tested again - couldn't afford the pay cut if I were accepted.
