no patches, no weigh gain, no pills
just by reading the book
AND the call from the doctor:
"There is something in your lungs, ma'am, let's repeat the CATscan"
was sufficient enough
;)
One becomes VERY succeptive to the idea of quitting smoking after the calls like that.

ah the lungs... yeah my mother died of lung cancer (age 38), spread from breast cancer, same as her mom (age 51), and her dad of lung cancer from smoking (60 something). Gramps got pneumonia, hospitalized, dead in 3 months. Pall Malls. And I'm going on 33.
and that is why I gave up the bottle. My pancreas wouldn't stop going crazy and I need my liver. Plus its probably one of the worst things you can do if you are avoiding cancer in general.
Both Fletch and myself don't really moderate in anything we do, and that included drinking. If I can't get shit faced, why bother. A buzz isn't good enough. So time to move on.
I drank enough for my entire life, that's for sure. It was fun and I quit while I was ahead.
