Ahh... St. Louis Kriek, from Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck, Ingelmunster.

Yeah... Lambic is a definitive Belgian style.

Originally, a lot of them were brewed using "spontaneous fermentation," where the yeast was not applied to the beer directly, but, instead, the fermenting vessels were open-air containers... and they'd open up the roof so that natural yeast would fall down on the wort (unfermented beer), and kick off the brewing process.

Now-a-days, with the understanding of microbiology that we have, that style of fermentation is practiced in far fewer breweries than it once was.
