ok, here's the facts

Surfers will flock to where the most free content is, the more free content there is the lower the conversions from that site.. when a business model becomes popular enough and gives away more content that the last popular biz model did, the model that gives away less free content will begin to lose it's traffic and the conversions go down as well.

I remember when I was doing AVS's and thehun became hugely popular my friends were like "why would I goto an AVS site, when I can just goto the hun to get my porn.. now people are like, why would I goto a TGP when I can goto megarotic, or other tube sites and get more"

at least with TGP's it took alot of clicking around and time to get a clip he liked to jerk off to, with tube sites he can just click the one video sit back and jerk off for 5 -10 minutes and be done..
