One thing cool about the new Knight Rider is that even though its obviously light-weight sci-fi, some of the things the car can do have some basis in reality. Today, Voice Synthesizers let computers talk. GPS Navigation tells you where you're going, and camera / lasers + GPS can help cars drive themselves (Darpa Automotive XPrize of 2006). Nano-based self-repairing materies ae very sci-fi, but again have some basis in fact (Google Nano tubes).
What was always stupid though was the "Tubo Boost". If you're going to at least bend the laws of physics at least follow it up with remotely plausible explanation. They can't, so its gone, and thats good.
