Whats going on guys? The contest was for posts made in July, it is Dec now and no winner has been announced. I am not posting this because I am hoping to win, you can disqualify me from the competition (I know posts like this wouldn't earn me any points anyway lol.) .
The reason why I am posting about this is because I think it is shitty that you didn't follow through with this. It certaintly didn't help the site any. Even though you didn't get many entries into the contest, if you would have followed through with it promptly it would have gotten the attention of others and you would have gotten new people over here. Instead it shows a lack of committment by your part to build the site and i am sure people like myself said the hell with it, If they going to give a shit about the site why should we post there then. I ran a contest a few months ago for $500. I had a small response and to be honest it sucked but I still gave away the money.
Also as an advertiser at the time I spent money based on the fact the site would be at least trying to grow, not be a 1 month wonder.
I know this site is on the bottom of the priority list, but after 5 months don't keep saying you "we forgot about it", it is apparent you felt the contest didn't yield the results you wanted and you just don't want to pay the money.

Due to our being so late in getting this taken care of and our happiness of what Will has decided to do we will be adding another $500 to the amount for a total donation of $1500!
Its long over due but in the end I think it worked out for the best as those getting the money truly need it the most! |
Now fast forward to 3/3/2008 and the dontation has not been made.
So John starts a contest for JULY, is suppose to announce a winner on August 1st, 5 months later he finally announces a winner after several people keep posting about. Then he says he will send the money I won to the Webmaster Toy Run for christmas, and 3 months later I have no update, and the money was not sent. 8 months on a contest and the money still hasn't left his pocket. And I am the asshole for pointing this out. GFY, too much.
